SOF2SDK vs. GTK Radiant

Both use a version of Radiant, and will be able to achieve the same results. GTK is considered to be superior for the "mouse look" feature, aswell as the various plugins included. Both come with GenSurf, which is similar, although less powerful than EasyGen.

  • Vista users will need to setup the "compatability tab" for the GTK shortcut, however SDK version seems to run fine as is. One problem I've come across is that even with UAC turned off, and permissions set to full control, it will not a "save/save as/save selected" a "new" *.map, you MUST open an exsisting *.map file and use the standard File->Save. If you don't have an example.map to start with, you can download any prefab (even if it is an old styl *.pfb, rename to *.map, and it should work.
