United Offensive: Setting Up The Editor

[edit] United Offensive Editor Setup
The UO editor needs to be set up correctly before it can be used successfully. To set ip up correctly you will need files from both Call of Duty and Call of Duty United Offensive.
[edit] Proper File Structure
The file structure after installing the United Offensive Editor needs to include some more files:
Collmaps (Collision map files for models and other entities) xmodel (models from Call of duty) env xmodel (models from United offensive)
which belong in these directories:
/call of duty/main/textures/collmaps /call of duty/main/textures/env /call of duty/main/xmodel /call of duty/UO/collmaps /call of duty/UO/xmodel
When extracting files from the stock ".pk3" files (change file name to ".zip" then use winRAR or winZip) you should always make a backup of the ".pk3" files.
[edit] Break Down of Files
The Collmaps folder is located at:
/call of duty/UOTools/Game/UO/
This folder should be copied (not cut!) to the UO directory:
/call of duty/UO
PakUO04.pk3 contains the xmodel folder which needs to be extracted to the directory:
/call of duty/uo
pak5.pk3 contains the "textures" and "env" folder which should be extracted and placed in the directory:
/call of duty/Main/Textures
(Note: You will have to create the "textures" folder.
Pack0.pk3 contains another Xmodel folder, this folder should be extracted and placed in the directory:
/call of duty/Main
[edit] Editor Settings
For the editor to work correctly you need to tell the editor the installation and file paths that are being used.
In Graydient under "File" > "Game Settings" > "Edit"
You will see somthing like the list below, but should change the directories to make sure they suit YOUR directory structure. (Note: this example uses the C drive but any drive should work just make sure your settings match your setup)

Base path [.EXE Location]: C:/Program Files/Call Of Duty/
SP Map Source: c:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\UOTools\Map_source
MP Map Source: c:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\UOTools\Map_source
RSHCMD: SP Map Source: c:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\UOTools\bin\
Remote BasePath: SP Map Source: c:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\UO
EntityPath: c:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\UOTools\bin\coduo.def
The next three should NOT be changed to full directories.
Texture Dir: Textures
Game dir (aka "fs_game"): uo
Base game dir ("fs_basegame"): main
It is unknown if changing the autosave directory to something other than \map_source\autosave will cause any errors.
AutoSave Directory: C:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\Map_source\Autosave
BSP Directories
SP Map Path [.MAP Location]: C:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\UO\Maps
MP Map Path [.MAP Location]: C:\Program Files\Call Of Duty\UO\Maps\Mp
