Tool textures are used primarily for function, like geometry or script.

Texture Name Texture Image Texture Usage
aa_default Image:Aa default.png Default texture when none is selected.
aitrig Image:Aitrig.png Used on triggers to remind the mapper of its use, this one is for AI related triggers. No effect ingame.
ambient Image:Ambient.png For ambience. No effect ingame.
autosave Image:Autosave.png For autosave points within Singleplayer. No effect ingame.
auto_adjust Image:Auto adjust.png Not Documented yet
bcs Image:Bcs.png Not Documented Yet
caulk Image:Caulk.png Solid with collision, basic texture for the geometry, appears only in the editor.
caulk_shadow Image:Caulk shadow.png Solid without collision, basic texture for the geometry, appears only in the editor.
cinematic_3d Image:Cinematic 3d.png Used within Singleplayer to play video ingame(from .bik files).
clip Image:Clip.png Not Documented Yet
clip_ai Image:Clip ai.png Stops any entity classified as AI from passing through the brush.
clip_full Image:Clip full.png Any entity will not be able to pass through the brush. Stops bullets/projectiles from passing through.
clip_magic_jeepride Image:Clip magic jeepride.png Not Documented Yet
clip_metal Image:Clip metal.png Stops entities from passing through the brush. Will prevent fall damage, and sound of footsteps will be metallic.
clip_missile Image:Clip missile.png Prevents any entity classified as a projectile from passing through it. C4 will stick to it.
lightgrid_sky Image:Lightgrid sky.png Set the area for the light grid calculation: area visible to the player.
lightgrid_volume Image:Lightgrid volume.png Set the area for the light grid calculation: area accessible to the player.
mantle_on Image:Mantle on.png Allow player to get ontop of the object, regardless to the height (within reach).
mantle_over Image:Mantle over.png Allow player to get over an object, regardless to the height (within reach).
nodraw Image:Nodraw.png Solid without collision, basic texture for the geometry, appears only in the editor.
nodraw_decal Image:Nodraw decal.png Solid without collision, basic texture for the geometry, appears only in the editor.
portal Image:Portal.png Set portal limit.
portal_nodraw Image:Portal nodraw.png Set portal limit.
