The Lightmap contains the light information of a map. It affects the reflexion of textures when the light is compiled.

[edit] Usage in Radiant

The default view of the world in Radiant, is a fully textured one. To have access to the Lightmap view you have to press the following keys: 'Shift' + 'L'. This will cycle through three mode of rendering.
The world, in Lightmap rendering mode, is textured in checker board scale of gray. The size of the square is directly proportional to the Lightmap value: too big and the lighting condition will look of poor quality, too small and at best the texture concerned will be involved into a memory hog. Most probably curves and other manipulated shapes will need the Lightmap to be fixed.
To fixe a bad Lightmap error, press the 'S' key (that will call the texture editor window) and either try the 'natural' option or the 'L-map'.
