In January 2008 Infinity Ward released the long awaited Mod Tools. The tools give owners of Call of Duty 4 the ability to create map, levels, scripts, animations, effects and models aswell as change game assets and even the look and feel of the game itself. The mod tools are available to anyone with a legal version of Call of Duty 4.
The current version is the 1.1 and requires the .Net Runtime Environment, to be downloaded from Microsoft, to run.
